Rebirth Counseling and Training Center
Rebirth Counseling and Training Center is looking for Certified Peer Support Specialists to join our team. Our philosophy consists of identifying the community services and support that a family or individual may need.
Description and Primary Purpose of Position:
Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides peer support services; serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and peer support. The CPS will role model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills. This position of moderate difficulty is responsible for providing a variety of case management and outreach interventions to consumers in their natural environment. Individual serves as advocate in assisting consumers in accessing community resources, teaching and modeling self-help and coping skills.
Minimum Training & Experience:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelors preferred. Certification as Peer Specialist through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network. Candidates with previous experience providing behavioral health care services in the community strongly preferred. This position makes up part of a team consisting of behavioral healthcare professionals, nurses and paraprofessionals who work in conjunction with clinic-based staff to provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare services and supports.
Additional requirements include problem solving/decision making skills and crisis management skills.
