Forensic Peer Mentor Positions Available

The Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is seeking people in recovery from behavioral health concerns and with lived experience with the criminal justice system to fill full-time positions in the state of Georgia as Forensic Peer Mentors. This is an excellent opportunity to assist returning citizens who are transitioning from Georgia State Prisons to living self-directed lives of recovery, hope, and purpose in communities of their choice.

Currently, we have positions available in the following locations:
Atlanta (Phillips State Prison)
Atlanta (Day Reporting Center)
Milledgeville (Baldwin State Prison)
Gainesville (Lee Arrendale State Prison)
Hawkinsville (Pulaski State Prison)
Rome (Day Reporting Center)
Columbus (Day Reporting Center)
Macon (Day Reporting Center)

Potential candidates will need:
To Self -Identify as an individual with behavioral health diagnoses.
To Self-Identify as an individual with experience as a returning citizen.
A flexible schedule.
The ability to work independently.
Reliable personal transportation.
The ability to pass a background check from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)
Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES)

Type: Full-time (40 hours)
Classification: Exempt
Base Salary: $27,500
Benefits: Contributions towards insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Vacation – 12 days/year Sick – 6 days/year Paid Holidays
