Forensic Peer Mentor Positions Available:


The Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is seeking people in recovery from behavioral health concerns and lived experience with the criminal justice system to fill full-time positions in the state of Georgia as Forensic Peer Mentors. This is an excellent opportunity to assist returning citizens who are transitioning from Georgia State Prisons to living self-directed lives of recovery, hope, and purpose in communities of their choice. Currently, we have positions available in the following locations:

~ Atlanta (Phillips Transition Center)
~ Atlanta (Phillips State Prison)
~ Atlanta (Day Reporting Center)
~ Milledgeville (Baldwin State Prison)
~ Gainesville (Lee Arrendale State Prison)
~ Hawkinsville (Pulaski State Prison)
~ Rome (Day Reporting Center)
~ Columbus (Day Reporting Center)
~ Macon (Day Reporting Center)
~ Columbus 9(Rutledge Prison)

Potential candidates will need:

~ To self -Identify as a person in recovery from behavioral health diagnoses.
~ To be a person with personal lived experience with the criminal justice system.
~ A flexible schedule.
~ The ability to work independently.
~ Reliable personal transportation.
~ The ability to pass a finger print based criminal background check from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

~ Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or
~ Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES)

Type: Full-time (40 hours)
Classification: Exempt
Base Salary: $27,500
