ZHCDC exists to provide neighborhood development and revitalization, social services and other serves as may be compatible with Zion Hill’s mission to become a viable force to effectuate spiritual, social, economic and cultural change through partnering, collaboration and volunteer resource mobilization. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors with an active committee structure and a strong core of volunteers. The ZHCDC has an established Outreach Center that provides a comprehensive program for women and children experiencing or at risk of homeless as well as low-income families.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) will be a member of the team serving the Permanent Supportive Housing Program. The program is designed to provide housing and supportive services to chronically homeless women age 55 and over.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The CPS will follow best practices to provide services that foster supportive peer relationships with and among the persons enrolled in the Supportive Housing Program. The CPS by definition is a person in recovery who will utilize her or his personal recovery experience to instill a sense of hope and optimism for persons in recovery. They will demonstrate a personal belief in recovery and a sincere interest in the welfare of persons in recovery. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Responsibilities:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The CPS will be responsible for (1) assisting their peers in skill building, goal setting, problem solving, conducing Recovery Dialogues, setting up and sustaining mutual self-help groups, and in helping their peers build their own self-directed recovery tools; (2) understanding the structure of the Georgia mental health system, client rights, cultural competency, confidentiality and the documentation requirements for progress notes; (3) promoting hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination in the residents in the Supportive Housing Program; (4) providing peer support services and serving as liaison to the residents in accordance to the approved resident’s individualized treatment plan; (5) linking residents to community supports and resources; (6) attending agency and state mandated meetings; (7) documenting and submitting all face-to-face/phone contact with residents and/or collateral contacts within 24 hours of contact; (8) attending meetings, training functions and other official ZHCDC functions as required; (9) meeting with residents and staff to plan and design schedules; (10) following up with the ZHCDC residents between weekly sessions to ensure retention and engagement in the Supportive Housing Program; (11) transporting residents as needed; (12) complying with ZHCDC policies and procedures; (13) serving in a variety of other services designed to assist the residents in reaching the goals they wish to accomplish in their personal recovery journeys and other duties as assigned.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Required Qualifications:&lt;br /&gt;• Must have Peer Support Certification.
